Lotus - A trusted name in family travel
Lhasa is the capital city of Tibet and has a distinctive charm. You may feel dizzy from the high altitude here, so it is important to plan for a slower pace. There are many rich historical relics with a strong religious culture. Potala Palace is perhaps the most famous. Also, the Jokhang Temple and Drepung Monastery have become the symbols of this ancient city. There is much in Lhasa that combines ancient and the modern. The Potala Palace is located on the Red Hill of Lhasa and it is known for its elegant building and religious history and exquisite artwork.
Heavenly Lake is well named and is located near Damxung. It is considered the highest saltwater lake in the world and the second largest saltwater lake in China.
Nyingchi Region is located in the eastern part of Tibet, and is sometimes called "the South Yangtze River in Tibet" because of its beautiful scenery. It is very different from much of the other areas of Tibet and has rich forests with a wide variety of plant life. The widely diverse climatic zones allow for such wide range of plant life that includes: banana trees, palm trees and snow lotus.
Shannan Region is
considered the birthplace of Tibetan culture. The area is rich in natural scenery with primitive forests, a mysterious holy hill and lake, vast grassland and splendid mountains. Overall, it is a beautiful place which offers a rich variety of interest for travel, recreation and even scientific exploration.
Mt. Everest is famous throughout the world and is known as the highest peak in the world. It beckons many hikers to overcome the ultimate mountain climb. It lies at the border between China and Nepal. It is also known as Mt. Qomolangma, which means “Mother Goddess of the Universe” in Tibetan.
