Sample Budget Building Plans

Summer In-Country:

If in-country travel costs $2000 per adult, and there are 2 adults and 2 kids (under age 12) the total in-country cost would be $7200 ($2000 x 2 = $4000 + $1600 per child x 2 = $3200).

After a $2000 deposit ($500 per traveler) ($7200-$2000=$5200 trip balance) one can pay $433.33 for 12 months or $288 for 18 monthsto pay prior to departure and can be paid via a TSP or other preferences of your choice.

Winter/Early Spring/Late Fall In- Country

If in-country travel costs $1650 per adult, and there are 2 adults and 2 kids (under 12) the total in-country cost would be $6290 ($1650 x 2 = $3650 + $1320 per child x 2 = $2640).

After a $2000 deposit ($500 per traveler) ($6290-$2000=$4290 trip balance) one can pay $357.50 for 12 months or $238 for 18 monthsto pay prior to departure can be paid via a TSP

Airfare

Airfare can be purchased through Lotus, which allows us to rebook your flight in case some unexpected scenario comes up and the airline cancels or completely reschedules a flight (e.g. extremely bad weather). To budget an average cost for flights, one can estimate $1500- $2500 per ticket during peak summer time; or approximately $900-$1900 during off peak times,( sometimes even less if you live in a gateway city). Or some families save up miles for the flights via business trips, gifting of miles from extended family, or promotional credit card offers, etc.

Winter/Early Spring/Late Fall

If air travel costs $1000 per adult and child assuming 2 adults& 2 kids, a total air estimate would be $4000 save up for that with additional payment of $333/month for 12 months (or $222 for 18 months) to the TSP or other preferences of your choice.

Summer : If air travel costs $1850 per adult and child a total air estimate would be $7280 save up for that with additional payment of $606/month for 12 months (or $404 for 18 months) to the TSP or other preferences of your choice.
