New updates on Visa Processing Information

The People’s Republic of China Consulate in Los Angeles announced that the additional visa requirements imposed in April 2008 as part of the security preparations for the Summer Beijing Olympics are no longer required.  Which means families applying for Tourist visas will no longer need to provide their flight itineraries or hotel confirmations.  Families are now encouraged to apply for their visas at least 3 months prior to their travel or shortly after the receipt of an adoption referral for adoptive families since the visas are valid for six months from the issue date.

Original Signed Passport

Completed and signed Chinese visa application (one form per traveler)

2" x 2" Passport Photo attached to application

Birth Certificate for children ages 12 and under (for an adopted Chinese child, please also submit a photocopy of both U.S. and Chinese birth certificates)

For any Chinese born person (such as an adoptive child), please submit original Chinese passport or evidence of prior issued Chinese visa

*All passports are returned to specified address via Federal Express
